Today we received Agnes Gosling's beautiful debut album in the mailbox. What a lovely tribute to Brazilian composer Milton Nascimento. We highly recommend to purchase it!

Basically, you can get me enthusiastic for any jazz gig. But you can get me really excited when it comes to Arab jazz or jazz influenced by Arab music and culture. And this is what exactly happened last Wednesday during the amazing concert by the Rabih Abdou-Khalil Mediterranean Quartet in theatre Lantaren Venster in Rotterdam. The lovely Lebanese oud-player Rabih Abdou-Khalil, accompanied by drums/percussion, accordeon and tuba/ bass. An impressive blend of jazz improvisations, Arab melodies, colors and rhythms and a great sense of humor (one of the songs was titled 'Shaving is boring, waxing is painful'). What a lovely concert! Unfortunately only a 2 minutes-recording. Anyway, enjoy:

Last week, one of the world's leading Maritime events took place in Ahoy Rotterdam: Europort 2013. During this week our lovely Jazz duo's provided some fine Jazz for this big event. On Tuesday Fresh Jazz Agency started off with the amazing Agnes Gosling & Alvaro Rovira Brazilian Jazz Duo. A little snapshot of their performance:

And finally it happened...after all those years: a visit to the famous Jazz Cafe in Camden Town, London. It turned out to be a beautiful night in a nice club with great music. The talented British singer and actress Heather Peace, in acoustic duo setting, mainly playing her own songs. Loved it! Hereby my little souvenir/ recording:
